Invisalign® Clear Sequential Aligners

Allow your patients to straighten their teeth without using braces, with Invisalign. Considered a breakthrough in aesthetic dentistry, with Invisalign®, patients use a series of clear, removable aligners that they change every two weeks until they have straightened to the prescribed position.

Invisalign® Overview

Invisalign® is also known as sequential aligner therapy, using plastic aligners to move a patients’ teeth in a carefully preordained, chronologically defined sequence. The teeth move through gentle but continuous ‘push’ forces, making it a comfortable option for patients that gives you predictable control over individual tooth movements.

More than 17 million people worldwide have used Invisalign®

Invisalign® treatment plans combine proven orthodontic science with 3D computer graphics that project tooth movement so you can show these visuals to your patients.

Each aligner is worn for two weeks, ideally 22 hours a day, only removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. Treatment times can vary and are customised to meet individual needs.

Invisalign® is an effective treatment plan for minor to moderate tooth movements, or a valuable modern technology to support multi-discipline treatments.

Orthodontic retention

The vital step in a successful orthodontic treatment is retaining the new teeth position. Retainers help with the active movement of teeth due to periodontal, occlusal and soft tissue forces.

Fixed retainers are ideal for situations when soft tissue pressure is producing a relapse tendency, and these can be designed for an indefinite or prolonged period. The most common fixed retainers include bonded lingual or palatal wires and cemented lingual arch wires.

Temporary or removable retainers are designed for limited retention periods, allowing for gingival and periodontal tissues to be stabilised. At Southern Cross Dental, we recommend Vivera® retainers from Align Technology.
